Required Personal Identification
To enter Canada by car, every person in the vehicle must carry acceptable ID. For U.S. citizens, the following are valid:
U.S. Passport (strongly recommended as the universal standard) [lcslogistics.com]
Passport Card (land/sea entry only) [lcslogistics.com]
Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL), if issued by your state [lcslogistics.com]
NEXUS card (for members using NEXUS lanes) [lcslogistics.com]
For minors: Children under 16 need proof of U.S. citizenship (e.g., birth certificate). If bringing a minor who is not your own child, you must carry a parental consent letter. Sometimes this is requested if only one parent is accompanying the child, so best to be safe. [lcslogistics.com]
